Relative to your message about Samuel Sullenberger who was born in Berks County, PA, he moved to Rockingham County, Virginia where he married Martha Scott. The recors show she was born in Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, VA. After their marriage in October 1807, they moved to the TOWN OF FRANKLIN,PENDLETON COUNTY, VA (now West Virginia). To his union was born 11 children. All of the children were born in Pendleton County, Virginia, including Albert Yancey Sullenberger. The information showing he was born in Franklin County, Virginia is incorrect. John Bird's records, which I have a copy of, shows that Albert Yancey worked for John Bird for 6 months beginning in May 1831. John Bird had a farm and ran a store near the town of Hightown in what is now Highland County, Virginia. Among the items Albert bought in the store, the records show shoes, music books, etc. He paid his account by working for Mr. Bird. My wife's grandfather, LLoyd Sullenberger, had in his possession the book recording the births of Samuel's children. I believe his grandson maintains this book.
