Fall River Herald News, May 8, 1912 In the death last evening of Mrs. Mary Coughlin at her home, 92 Linden Street, one of the oldest Irish residents in the city passed away. Deceased was the daughter of the late Eugene and the late Catherine Sullivan nee Harrington, and the widow of James Coughlin. She was born in Corramore parish, Barehaven, County Cork, Ire., 77 years ago. Four sons and four daughters survive her. They are Daniel and Michael Coughlin, the well known undertakers and funeral directors, the latter being also a member of the Board of Health: Capt. John H. Coughlin of Hose II company of Maplewood and James H. Coughlin, a clerk, and Mrs. Mary J. McKeown, Mrs. Charles H. Roberts, Mrs. James Noonan and Miss Catherine Coughlin. The funeral will take place Saturday morning with a solemn high mass of requiem at Sacred Heart church. Mrs. Coughlin had lived here 61 years and six months. She was married at St. Mary’s Church and when Sacred Heart parish was formed she lived within its lines and from that time, as long as she was able, until her death, she was a constant and devout attendant at services at Sacred Heart church. She was ever a kind wife and mother and a good neighbor and her friends were legion. To her family the sympathy of this community will be extended. 77 in 1912, born in 1835, immigrated 1851, married Jan. 5, 1855 St. Mary’s Fall River.
