(Forgive me for posting this twice.I thought a different title might catch someone's attention.)
Hi!I'm totally new to this and just put in names on a search and found you.I have a Sarah Sutton Trembley, who was the daughter of Sir Henry Sutton and Lady Elizabeth Berkeley and the granddaughter of Lord John Berkeley, the Lord Proprietor, and Lady Mary Berkeley. She was the widow of George Trembley, a Huguenot nobleman. She later married Isaac Cox and became his 3rd wife. This information supposedly comes from the John C. Cox manuscript in the Princeton University Library and is backed up by another book: Descendents of Richard Sutton. Now, my Sarah Sutton has the same birthdate and place as your Sarah Sutton (9/15/1650 in Scituate, Plymouth Co. MA) I wonder who is correct here...
Can anyone help me with this?
I've also found that many of the Cox and Sutton families inter-married and lived in Somerset Co., NJ.A later Phillip Cox had daughters with the married names of Hannah Sutton and Susannah Sutton in a will dated 3/10/1785.My information says that one of their husbands was Rev. James Sutton, son of David Sutton.
My branch of the Cox family settled in what is now Lewis and Gilmer Counties of West Virginia after the Rev. War.
