This Frederick Jones, son of Thomas (son of Roger & brother to Frederick), was b. 7 July 1732, m. 10 Jan 1758, his cousin, Jane Swann of NC & took up residence in NC.He read law under his kinsman, Samuel Swann, & became an active & successful member of that profession.The name of his only son was changed from Jones to Swann by the persuasion of his grand-uncle, bachelor John Swann.His descendants are known by their adopted name, Swann.
