1880 census - HELP! can you identify this widow & 5 chn?
I think these are the mother & siblings of Alice [SWEAZEY] who married William KEELING abt 1879 on the census below:
1880 Warren Co Mo/ED 153/Elkhorn Twp/HH 45-45/pg 683a
SWEAZEY, Nancy/HH/wf age 42 In/SD/Oh/widow
Sweazey, David J/son/wm age 19 In/Oh/In
Sweazey, Josephine/dtr/wf age 13 In/Oh/In
Sweazey, Margaret C/dtr/wf age 12 In/Oh/In
Sweazey, George/son/wm age 10 In/Oh/In
Sweazey, Mary A/dtr/wf age 08 Mo/Oh/In
......living next door to Nancy & her children is:
1880 Warren Co Mo/ED 153/Elkhorn Twp/HH 46-46/pg 683a
KEELING, William/HH/wm age 24 Ar/Tn/Tn
Keeling, Alice M/wife/wf age 16 In/Oh/In
Keeling, Sintha J/dtr/wf age 4mos (born Jan 1880) Mo/Ar/In
....I was told Sintha's mother's maiden name was "Martha [Sweazey]" - was she Alice Martha ? Her age and birth info fits perfectly as a child of the above widow Nancy Sweazey. Also, there is little question that the above "Sintha [KEELING] born Jan 1880" is the same Sintha [Keeling] I am looking for who was born 16 Jan 1880.
Does anyone recognize this Sweazey family???
Who was Nancy's husband?
What was Nancy's [maiden name]?
Was Nancy the mother or stepmother of any or all of these chn?
What happened to these 5 Sweazey children?
Thankyou for any information you may share with me,
Kathye [Payne] Upham
