The George H. Swift who wrote the book that I cited was George Henry Swift (1820-?) of Amenia, New York; none of his children were named George H. Swift.
But the woods were full of George H. Swifts in the 1800s!
There was another George Henry Swift (1820-?), a cousin of the first one, who also had no children named George H. Swift.Yet another George H. Swift, born in Machester, Vermont in 1841, had no male children.
More promising is the George Hastings Swift, sixth son of Gustavus Franklin Swift (1839-?) & Anna Maria Higgins (1843-?), who was born, probably in Chicago, Illinois, on March 1, 1878.I have no information about the subsequent life of George Hastings Swift. It is chronologically possible that he moved to Hawaii in the early 1900s to become your ancestor.Good hunting!
