Hi Linda,
I think we have communicated before. On the Genforum of Sept 20,2002 Robert Carver entered some Swingle family information, maybe you have this already!!!It is as follows:
George Martin Schwingel b.1724 Neunkirchen Saar Germany married Anna Margaretta Thomas abt 1747 in Lancaster Co PA
Their Children all born in Pennsylvania:
1. Nicholas b.Oct 12,1748 Lancaster Co Pa m. Elizabeth (unknown)
2. Anna Maria b. Feb 18,1752m. Gerard Stonebreaker
3. Leonhard b. Feb 5,1758m. Eva Theiss
4. Georg b. Dec 11,1757m.(1) Christina Householder (2) Mary Householder (3) Mary Phillips Savage
5. Michael b. Feb 25,1759 m.Mary Cummings
*6. John b. May 1,1761 m. unknown
7. Maria Barbara b. Oct 23,1763
8. Magdalena b. abt 1765m. Jacob Tice
I think the above John is the father,of John born 1811 in Kentucky who married Hannah Caudell. No proof, but I keep searching!
George Martin Schwingel b.1724 is descended from
Jacob Schwingell b. Remmesweiler Germany
Mathis (Mathias) Schwingel b. Remmensweiler
Georg Schwingel b. Remmesweiler
Michael Schwingel b.Remmesweiler m. Anna Heitz
Nikolaus Schwingel b.Neunkirchen m. Katharina Henrici
Johann Nickel (Hans Nikolaus) Schwingel of Neunkierchen Germany m. (1)Maria Barbara Anscheutz (parents of George Martin)came with four children a daughter and three sons to America arriving Dec 1740 in Philadelphia. He m (2) Anna Margaretta (Hoy)Haas.
My ancestry comes from Johann Nickel and 2nd wife Anna Margaretha Hoy Haas and their son Michael Swingle born Aug 23,1743 Tulpehocken,Lancaster Co PA. So George Martin and Michael would be half brothers.
