Thankyou for the information. I'm trying to trace Solomon Redman Jackson's line. I found the will of his father, Thomas Jackson in the Clarke county Virgina wills. Thomas Jackson died 1843 in Clarke Co., VA. His wife's name was not mentioned in his will. I'm wondering if this Thomas Jackson is the following person:
Frederick Co. VA Land Deed Book 42, page 142.
Statement made before the court that Thomas Jackson was entitled to a slave by the name of Alexander age about 23 years, 6 feet rather slender frame was the property of Thomas Crampton of Washington Co. MD devised to his daughter Ruth, now the wife of said Thomas Jackson. Said Thomas Jackson is requesting from the court the right to transport said slave into Frederick Co. VA to sell him. Dated 10 Dec 1819, probated 3 Jan 1820.
Ruth CRAMPTON Jackson was born abt 1763 in Gapland, Washington co., MD. So she could be the mother of Solomon R. Jackson. I see LDS IGI entries saying that Solomon R. Jackson's mother name was "Ann". Going to follow up.
I found the Land Deed several days ago on line. I've been looking for Ruth Crampton Jackson for 12 years so I'm excited, but I can tell researching this line is not going to be easy.
