I hope someone can help me. I'm looking for information on the parents of my 3rd great grandfather, George Green Sykes. His death certificate lists his mother as Mary Sykes born in Orange Co, NC and his father as unknown. I've corresponded with other researchers in the family, and nobody seems to know anything about his parents or if he had any siblings. Some have suggested that his father may have been Native American based on the results of a blood test done on one of his granddaughters, but I don't have the details on that. It's been 12 years and I've still had no luck. If anyone has come across any information on him, please let me know.

His adult census record entries say that both of his parents were born in North Carolina. The closest I've come to finding a possible childhood census record for him is a 12-year-old boy listed as "Green Sykes" on the 1860 Census in Graham, Alamance Co, NC who was living with the White family: father George, mother Maria and daughter Mary E. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
