I have a connection ot the Sylvestor family and the state of Arkansas that is unusual.I do not know that it will help you BUT if it does I would like to Know.It would mean we are very distance relatives.
In the 1825 Will books of Jackson Co, Arkansas there is a listing for Moses Sylvester (ca 1780-1825) which stats his heir is Levi Sylvestor (1755-1845) of Chemung Co, Catlin Mills, NY.Levi is my direct ancestor, my 8th great grandfather.Levi served in the Rev War and At least two other of his sons (including my ancestor) served in the War of 1812.In addition to Moses, the Will books contained many other men from the south central area of New York who died or left a will within a 20 year period.Almost as if a group of 1812 soldiers had come to the area and just didn't go home.
I have no proof Moses died in 1825, nor that he had no children.I cannot find in the census records anywhere, Arkansas or otherwise.
Levi has connections to VT, Canada, NH, and MA.
Hope this may provide a lead in a new direction.
