LA, huh? Lower Alabama is not really that far from Greensboro. Seriously, it is a bit distant for me also but, since I visited the Syring family in Odershausen a few months ago I'll probably make the trip to talk about it with the Alabama Syrings. The Bad Wildungen/Odershausen area was not bombed during the war and parts of it are relatively unchanged from the time Johann Heinrich and his brothers left in 1844 (even a couple of centuries beforefor that matter). The house in which he was born and church in which he was christened are still in use. I'll pass on your Martin inquries.Vine and Olive Colony connection is highly probable for any French-born living in the general area of Demopolis during 1850.
