David, I don't know what Jamie sent you, but I have some info. I've seen the estate papers too, and they establish that Moses and John were brothers. The genealogy list by Mrs. Frank Torrance says John, Daniel, Rebecca and their mother came to Randolph Co IL in 1804, but I think this is the wrong date. The Montague history of Randolph Co says an Anderson/Hill group came in 1804, John Lacy came in 1804, and other groups came from SC in 1812, 1814, 1816, but only men's names are listed, John and Daniel came in 1807. John (Sr.) probably died in 1806, and Elenor is in the SC census of 1810. The obit for Moses says he was born in Co.Tyrone March 17,1770. He arrived in Charleston on Aug.9,1791. There is no date on the obit and I don't have the complete article, but Moses' will is dated July 9,1841. The Torrance list has 4 children for Rebecca by John Lacy, Eleanor b.1820, Caroline b.1826, Margaret, John. Descendants are listed for Eleanor and Caroline, John is buried in Old Bethel, in Sparta, as are Rebecca and John Lacy. Rebecca's brother David moved to AL, there are a bunch of Taggarts there, but I can only identify David, some of them must be Moses' family.
