Bible found belonging to George Robert Tait

By Jeri Olson Baumgardner January 30, 2003 at 10:51:36

Recently I obtained a bible from a thrift store (in GA) which belonged to a George Robert TAIT. It has some writing in it, along with some small personal items inserted between the pages. The bible was apparently a gift to George from his mother, Katherine M. Nichol, presented to him 18 June 1965. Among things written within are some names and dates, with the following most noteworthy:

- Robert TAIT married Katherine Margaret THOMPSON on 6 Sept 1899

- George Robert TAIT married Aline R. MACON on 1 June 1935

There is also the laminated obituary of George stuck in the bible, giving the following info:

- died 12 March 1973 in Zion, Illinois; survived by wife, Aline, sons George Jr. of Kansas and William of Illinois, and daughter Carol Brown of New Jersey, and his mother Katherine. (There are also siblings of George's noted.)

I would very much like for a family member to have this bible. Please contact me for more details.
