Well, Elizabeth, it looks like you and I may very well be RELATED !
My line also follows from William (1707) and Ann Walker (1707) Taliaferro ! and also extends from Christopher Taliaferro. I did NOT have his middle name, nor did I have his wife’s name, except that she was a Anderson.(I didn’t understand whether you were saying her name was “Sallie Anderson,” OR, if there were two wives and one was “Elizabeth Pollard.” Please clarify.)
My notes for Christopher are:
In 1773, he was selected to the “Committee of Safety” in King William County. A “Christopher Taliaferro was the executor or administrator of the estate of Ransome Dudley in 1738. Same one? Our Christopher Taliaferro was a Colonel. He lived at Fork Bridge in King William Co., Virginia, and left his property to his 3 sons (Walker, William, and John0. Velma Parmerton (Ancesty.com. Message Board) says there were 3 other children: James, Lucy, and Clara.
My line then goes with (1) Walker AND with (2) John (or “Jack,” as you say)!
Since yours goes with Jack, let me go over that FIRST.
I have his birth date as Mar 23, 1764, and his death date as Mar 4, 1840 – both King William County – and his wife’s name as Nancy Brooke, daughter of Robert Brooke and Anne Aylett.
I have his 10 children as: Christopher Walker, Margaret Brooke, Robert Brooke, Alfred Walker, Henry P., Isabella, Fanny Walker, Mary Ann, Sallie, and Nancy Brooke.
Apparently we have a discrepancy – and you may very well be correct ! You have “Christopher William” (b. 1790) marrying Eliza Parsons in 1816, whereas, I have “Christopher Walker” marrying Fanny Fleet. I am NOT SURE of my sources. I believe I found this info in a library in King William County. (I now try to do a MUCH BETTER job of keeping track of WHERE I get info!)
I have no further info of any kind about Christopher W.
Jack’s daughter Nancy Brooke Taliaferro was my great-great-great-grandmother. She married William Ellett (Aylett) Taliaferro.
William Ellett (Aylett) Taliaferro was the son of (1 above) Walker Taliaferro. Walker married Mildred Coleman Elett (Aylett), daughter of William and Elizabeth (Turner) Ellett (Aylett). One of their sons was named Daniel (1770± - 1842) – VERY INTERESTING !
To continue with my line, Walker (1) and Mildred Taliaferro’s son William married Nancy Brooke Taliaferro, daughter of Jack (2) and Nancy Taliaferro. William and Nancy Taliaferro had 4 children: John Walker, Mary Evelyn, Fannie, and Elizabeth. John died in 1861 in the War.
Elizabeth married a Neale. Mary Evelyn (my great-great-grandmother) married Creed Tillman Jeter, son of Ryland and Maria (Burrusss) Jeter.
Their daughter Nannie Brooke Jeter was my great-grandmother. When Mary Evelyn (Taliafeerro) Jeter died (before 1880), Creed T. married Mary’s sister Fannie. (Creed’s and Fannie’s grandson Thomas Rucker Jeter lives in Texas and I e-communicate with him frequently.)
Nannie Brooke Jeter married Thomas Ellett Jeter, who was her father’s first cousin. They had two children: Tillman Ellett Jeter (my grandfather) and Mary Evelyn Jeter. (Notice how family names continue!). Tillman (or T. E., as he was often called) married Willie Blanche Spencer (whose family I am presently concentrating on). Their daughter
Alma Brooke Jeter was my mother. She married Peter Tyce (P. T.) Dodson. Alma and P. T. had two children: my brother William Tyce Dodson and me, Carole Brooke Dodson. (I married a Bryant, hence my last name!)
I have 15 grandchildren, 10 of which I must stay with the remainder of the day. Therefore, I have cut this short.
In any case, Elizabeth, I’m quite sure we are COUSINS !
Looking forward to more !
