Published in the Asbury Park Press 3/3/03 L. SHIRLEY TALLMAN, 96, of WHITING, died Friday, Feb. 28, at Crestwood Manor Health Care, Whiting. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Community Reformed Church of Whiting, where she also served as a member of the church "workshop." She was a former elder of Colony Presbyterian Church, Union. She served on the advisory board of the Kokes organization for Crestwood Manor, Whiting. Born in Newark, she lived in Union for many years, before moving to Whiting in 1978. She and her late husband enjoyed traveling all over the world. She was predeceased by her husband of more than 60 years, Herbert Tallman, in 2001, and a daughter, Gail Drue James, in 1997. Surviving are three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. today at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.acwht (A.C. Whiting)>
