11 NOV 1830 ~ My [probable] gg-uncle, Elisha CLAMPITT, bought land in Jackson County, Alabama [26-7-3E] ~ In 1830 there was also Levi B. CLAMPITT in the same county, perhaps a son.
27 APR 1837 ~ My great-uncle, George Nicholson CLAMPITT, school teacher, also bought land in the Jackson County. This was the year his father, Mathias Masten CLAMPETT, died in Madison County, Alabama... Mathias' widow later moved with her daughter's MAPLES family to Texas County, Missouri. And, I believe George's land [1-5-3E] was later designated as Marshall County, and he later ended up in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana about 1860 where he started a church. He was in the southwest corner of Arkansas from about 1853 until his move to Claiborne Parish.
George Nicholson CLAMPITT had a sister, Catherine Anne, b: 1820, who married in 1835 to Hardy Holman SANDERS, b: 1816/18, that lived in Franklin County, Tennessee and where they made their home until about 1860 when they moved to Marshall County, Alabama.
