GEORGE TANNANT -- This gentleman, who by courage and intelligence in battle, received a captain's commission in the Federal army, was killed at the battle of Culpepper. He was in command of a Massachusetts company, from Springfield. Captain TANNANT was some years ago the agent of Wells, Fargo & Co., at Mokelumne Hill, where he has many friends.
