Hi Heidi,
does this make any sense to you?
9J7. EUNICE FLEWELLING m. ______ RUSSELL. According to, Vital Statistics From New Brunswick Newspapers: Volume 2, 1816-1823, Vital Statistics Committee of the New Brunswick Genealogical Society, Daniel F. Johnson, chair; NBGS, Fredericton, NB, 1982, 2nd ed. 1985, p. 44, # 880; referring to the 21JUN1820 issue of the Saint John, City Gazette, Eunice Harned, d/o Allward Harned, m. in Fredericton, NB 3JUN1820 William Russell. Marriage performed by the Rev. James Somerville. Eunice’s mother would be Sarah (Flewelling) Harned [438]; and her brother, John Allward Harned [4383/9JJA], below, married Frances Flewelling, d/o of Joseph and Phoebe (Worden) Flewelling. Since, in his will, Joseph only mentions ‘four’ daughters, and Eunice is not among them; it seems possible that this supposed daughter is, in fact, his son-in-law’s sister. William Russell was a witness to the marriage of John Allward Harned and Frances Flewelling, and this may have resulted in the confusion.
