Hi Marie This is George Barry a direct decendant of the Hawsons that owned the Abeona that landed at Port Lincoln in 1839. We were the owners of Polda Station until 1966. I was also the owner of the northen sections of Polda Station until 1984. My Grand Mother was Florence Hawson.Frances Tapley Hawson was born August 8th 1830 and died as a result of being speared by the natives on October 11th 1840. He died a very violent death at their hands. He was speared on the 5th and lingered until the 11th. Present were Mrs Dekane, Mrs White,Elizabeth and Edward Hawson. I have the origanal family Bible which was started in 1814 and no more enterys were put in the bible after Frances was killed.I have just obtained a photo of a remake model of the Abeona that is in the boat museum in Port Lincoln.I do have quiet a bit of history on the Hawsons and rhe Standleys of which two Standley girls married two Hawsons. Kind Regards George Barry
