William Tappin from Buckinghamshire, England
Greetings to all Tappins out there!
If anyone should come across a William Tappin from Bucks, I have lost one, and quite probably two.
Careless of me, I know, but the 1851 census merely states place of birth as 'Buckingham', which could be the town, but was also used to denote the county. He should have been born between 1821 -1822.He died between 1862 and 1866 as a bricklayer.I am hoping to check through some potential death records soon, when I get restarted on my tree.He was survived by his wife Jane (Powell), who remarried to James Francis in 1866.His children were Elizabeth, Caroline, William Stanford, Thomas Edward and Walter James Lee(or Leam).Elizabeth and William Stanford emigrated to Australia and I am in contact with their descendants.
His father was also believed to have beeen another William, which would probably put his birth before 1804, most likely around the turn of the century (earlier if the first children were girls, or even a lot earlier if he was a {something else}William).
Thanks (hopefully!).
Neil
