Clarke Co, MS census 1860:
J. B. Tardy56MPhysicianCT
A. B. Tardy34MMurchantAL
C. J. K.7FMS
Clarke Co., MS records:
Wm. R. Austin married Lucinda S. Tardy 4/10/1856 (bondsman - B. A. Tardy-- Possibly A.B. Tardy ?)
Benjamin F. Evans married Martha V. Tardy 12/1/1859
(bondsman Alexis Tardy)
Pontotoc County Deeds:
J. B. Tardy purchased land in 1846 and 1848
J. B. Tardy sold five parcels in Nov. 1854.One of those parcels was to George W. Dandridge.
A. B. Tardy sold two parcels in Nov & Dec 1853.
Based on the above it appears that J.B & A.B Tardy left Pontotoc County much earlier than I first thought.
George M. Adams bought land from or sold land to Stephen Heard in February 1854?Another transaction was with Duncan Clark in April 1861.
There are many transactions for Dandridges.
The 1870 Census for Lee Co, MS lists:
The 1870 Census Index for MS shows a Jane Tardy in Clarke County.
