Hey Warren. Yes, I have been to Targettville myself. It is a small village near Richibuto New Brunswick. As my Grandfather tells me (as told to him by his Grandfather etc....) when the Targett brothers emigrated from England they settled near what is now Targettville. They were primarly farmers in the summer and loggers in the winter (in fact our branch of the family continued this practice well into the 1940's in New Brunswick with my Grandfather participating in the winter log drives - but that's another story). Now as he has told me they moved from there years later because of problems with the local French Roman Catholics in the area (the North Shore of New Brunswick is almost entirely Acadien). Our branch of the family moved to Fredericton. We have cousin's in Campbellton New Brunswick and spread throughout Canada. However the Targett name is left over in the village. My Grandfather stills lives in Fredericton, although my mother lives in Barrie Ontario and I live in Ottawa (moved around with the military). I hope this spreads some light on the Targettville connection.
