I'm looking for a descendant of either EdwardV. Tatro, Joliet, Illinois (born about 187+/- or his son, Edward C. Tatro born about 1903.There was an Edward, (son of Simon and Francis Tetro) and then there was Edward, son of Edward and I'm not sure which one I'm searching just yet, the father, or the son.
I have a newspaper article from a 1939, Joliet, IL newspaper with a picture of Edward and two other men holding up a100 year old tombstone that they found in Ridgewood park. The article says that Edward in the picture is a member of the Ridgewood Community Organization in Joliet.
My interest is in finding anyone in the family who might have heard this story about the tombstone and remembers what happened to the tombstone. The tombstone contains the names of three little STEVENS children who were children of my gg grandfather's sister and husband.
There were two other men in the article, Robert Pierce and Louis Surinak, NYA workers (not sure what NYA referred to) helping hold up the tombstone. The men appear to be 30-40 years old, but the old grainy black and white photo could be deceiving.
