Labas. There is a Tautkus family that came to America before World War I and lived in the Chicago area, then moved to Albion, Michigan. Apparently the Tautkus parents died there in Chicago, and the boys came to Albion, and the daughter was raised by her aunt who married into the Baskevich family. The Tautkus' and the Baskevich' were from Zagare, Lithuania, which is in northern Lithuania just a few miles from the Latvian border. Both families moved to Albion, Michigan, but returned to Chicago around World War II. The two Tautkus boys, Alex and Stanley (both now deceased) stayed here. Alex has a son Dennis Tautkus, 416 S. Hannah St., Albion, MI 49224 (517) 629-5658. Check with the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture, 6500 S. Pulaski Road, Chicago, IL 60629. (773) 582-6500. They have a massive obituary file, including Tautkus'in it. When writing request a copy of their latest newsletter.
