The first Teasleys in Illinois were William Teasley and Amy Pharr, who were married 22/23 Apr 1816 in Sumner Co, TN. They moved to Edwards Co, IL before 1820.In 1824, Wabash Co was formed from Edwards, and this family is found there in the 1830 Census.Eliza Teasley of Saline Co, IL in 1880 is probably the widow of a son or grandson of William and Amy.The next Teasleys in Illinios were Jonathan Teasley and Sarah Jeany Laws. They were married 16 Jun 1813 in Orange Co, NC. Jonathan, a son of Abraham Teasley, moved to Lincoln Co, KY by about 1817, and then to Bond Co, IL between 1820 and 1830.If the 1900 census of Sangamon Co, IL is correct, Cook Teasley and his parents were all born in Kentucky. His origin remains obscure.
