Hi Jeanette, I haven't done too much recently. Nothing more on Clemente yet. On Gabriel Tejeda, I found in the Wilson county census that he was living with his niece Paula Roxo Coy. Paula Roxo Coy was daughter of Maria Engracia Tejeda and Jose Maria Roxo. Maria Engracia was daughter of Clemente Tejeda and Maria Josefa Laurenia de Leon.
I am working on the theory that Clemente Tejeda (b abt 1793), Juan Ignacio Tejeda (b abt 1780) and possibly Jacome (Jacobo?) Texeda (b abt 1792) were sons of Mariano Texeda (b abt 1760 in Nacogdoches, TX )and Maria Josefa Flores married in Nacogdoches, Texas around 1780.
I do recall your husband Nathan's grandfather Ramon Cantu, living in Poth. I used to work in a garage after school and I remember Ramon Cantu being the mechanic at that garage. He would do all kinds of automotive repairs and I would ask him questions about how he did the front end alignments and other things. In those days they were more more complicated than now, and he would explain about the camber angles , etc. He also gave me rides to school several times when it rained and the dirt roads were pretty well impassable. He was a tall, black haired, lean man and had chisled square jaw. Not many men in that town those days could do that kind of job. He must have been the father of Nathan's mother Elda Cantu.
Possibly around the beginning of the year I can do more research.
