I too am researching the Templeman family in Lincolnshire, and was delighted to learn about your interest. My father, Walter Templeman was born in Dorrington, Lincolnshire, in 1904.His father, Thomas 4, was born at Branston in 1873, married Emma Rose at Eagle, and was the blacksmith at Dorrington. His father, Samson Martin, known as Martin in later life, was baptised at Wildmore, near Boston, Lincolnshire in 1846, and married Mary Taylor at Branston. His father, Thomas 3, was baptised at Coningsby at 1815, and married Betsy Wilkinson at Wildmore. His father Thomas 2, married Anne Martin at Boston, and I think, was born in 1771 at Deeping St. James, son of Thomas 1 and Eleanor Bailey, therefore being the brother of John, born 1784 mentioned by Steve.I, too, think that Thomas 1 was the son of William and Ann of Carlby, and thence back via Robert, Thomas and Robert to William c.1555.There is Thomas Templeman, buried at Wildmore in 1827, aged 80, which I think is Thomas 1.That doesn't tie up with him being born in 1742, but, possibly being illiterate, he may not have known his exact age.We visited Carlby last summer and there is a Templeman Drive opposite the lane to the church!I would be grateful for any relevant information, particularly about Thomas 1 and Eleanor Bailey, who seem to have moved about a bit, Deeping St. James to Sibsey, returning to Deeping St. James, and then to Coningsby.
