As stated earlier, I am trying to see if the Vreeland/Freeland and Terhune relationship which existed in NJ also went to GA.There was a Terhune in 1830 Jasper Co GA, and Lewis Freeland had been there in 1820. Freelands were in northern GA right where your Terhunes were.I hope to determine if the GA Freelands were of Dutch ancestry or English/Scotish ancestry. It may just be coincidence but Freeland/Vreeland and Terhune are not overly common surnames. It's interesting to me that a Terhune from NJ ended up in GA as an Indian agent for the govt.
