My apologies for the number of posts on the subject, I hope this will be my last.Having read both that Albert Albertse/Albertsz (AA) emigrated aboard the Kalmar Nyckel and that we don’t know where he was between 1638-1650, I believed I had accounted for six or more of those years when I came across the entry I cited above. As I mentioned earlier, it was quickly brought to my attention that Aeltje Cornelis married Elbert Elbertse/Elbertsen Stoothoff (EE) not AA.
At the same time, it is also possible the Van Laer erred when he supplemented the original documents with his alphabetical list by year of arrival. Over two hundred years later, it would have been an easy error to make given that EE signed his name Elbert Elbertsen, without Stoothoff, and AA had change the spelling of his name, assuming it had been Elbert, to Albert. The possibility exists that AA changed his name to avoid being confused with EE.
The solution was to find evidence that EE did not arrive aboard the Kalmar Nyckel. I believe the following entry I found on The Olive Tree Genealogy web site provides that evidence:
