Aloha Joanne,
We've "talked" before. I just wanted you to know that I am very sure that Vassar is an anglicized Levasseur. I have "Vassar" in my ancestry in Clinton County, NY in the 19th C. and the name became Levasseur as soon as I traced it across the border into Quebec. E-mail me direct if you want to discuss this name more.Best, Jerry
