New information on Herman and Bertha Tessmer of Pittsburg, KS.Herman .Dec. 2, 1852 died in 1931. Came to NYC at 16years of age from Germany/Prussia. Worked in South Bend, Ind and Peru, IL(?)Arrived in Pittsburg in 1880.Do not know when he married Bertha Elgert (Elbert).She was born Oct 17 in 1857 died in 1920.They are buried at Mt Olive cemetery in Pittsburg. There is another "Herman" buried there also. Don't know who he is.According to 1885 census, a Minnie Hoffman lived at same address when she was 96. Herman had a sister, Mrs O.D. Smith, Wichita, KS. There is also an IDA Tessmer listed at Herman's address in old telephone book. Who? Herman worked in smeltering plants.If anyone can piece together any of this information, would appreciate your help. Could not find ship Herman came to NYC on, we assume it would be from Germany/Prussia.
