THIS A SHOERT EXCERPT OF GEORGE TEATERS SON SAMUEL TEATER PENSION APPLICATION. On this fifth day of May personally appeared before the Justices of the County Court of Howard County in open Court, Samuel Teeter, a resident of the County of Howard in the state of Missouri.Aged about seventy-one years, who being first duly sworn according to law does on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the provisions made by the act of Congress passed June 7th 1832.States that he was born in the month of February 1763 in Botetourt County [Note: In 1763 Botetourt County was still a part of Augusta County], State of Virginia. In the year 1779 his father moved from that state to what is now the state of Kentucky.
I was then about sixteen years of age.On our way from Virginia, at Cumberland Mountain, the Indians fired on us and defeated us, killing one man and wounding two men (my father being one of them). When we arrived at the district of Kentucky we settled near where Danville now stands [Note: Now Boyle County, Kentucky]..
This combined Shows George Teater and his son Samuel went alone without the other children and wife Sarah. very near to where George Teater lived 1st was a place called Dunkers bottom owned by Capt Richard Pearis there is a spot called Parris run. This most likey where Samuel was born 1763. Since George Teater was landless until 1768 It means his wife Sarah and child Samuel were living on the Pearis or Parris family land at the begining of the marriage. REGARDS
