I've no reason to pursue John George Dieter in detail, other than sorting out possible confusion with George Teater. That, however, will have to wait until the George Teater data has been processed.
With regard to "George William Teater" b 1736, that is extremely unlikely.Trinomials did not come into common use in the colonies, either in the Scot Irish or the English and Welsh population, until about 1760.German lines did make use of Trinomials routinely;its conceivable that George Teater was of German descent, but this seems unlikely, the confusion with John George Dieter notwithstanding.
Ifyou have a solid basis for believing that George Teater did indeed have a middle name of "William", then I'd be happy to look at the supporting evidence. I'm always interested in finding confirming evidence of pre 1760 usage of Trinomials among the Scot Irish/English/Welsh.Usually, though, when such usage is reported it proves difficult to document.
