NOTE BETWEEN 1747 TO 1760S. John Tettler - Peter Smeltzer -Paul Smeltzer - George Tettler -Peter Smeltzer Paul Smeltzer - Phillip Smeltzer -George Tetler. - John Tetler Paul Tetler - Jacob Tetler., These Teters are all here in Limerick Ireland. So they appear as either older Relatives than Paul Smeltzer and George Teater on the Crab Creek Tract in Va, But they are no doubt older uncles or older brothers that remained behind in Ireland,
Detlor Timeline
1687 - Johan Jacob Dedler born in Nassau, northwest Germany, a Lutheran[1] French Huegunots family came from France to Germany
1709 - because of religious persecution and severe economic times, Johan and several other families from the Lower Palatinate area of Germany take refuge in England[2]
1709 - Sir Thomas Southwell of Rathkeale (near Limerick) in Ireland, offers to take some Palatine refugees to settle on his land, including Johan Dedler[3
1709 - ? - Johan living on Southwell’s land, marries and has children[4]. Children are - Valentine (born 1726), Samuel (born 1730), John, Jacob (born 1747) and Peter.[5] Date of death of Johan unknown.
1756 - Valentine (age 30) is in the British army and is transferred with his regiment to New York[6]. He is discharged from the army in 1762 and lives in New York City.[7]
1756 - 1770 - during this period many Irish-Palatine families migrate to New York City and form a small community of Methodists[8] - including Valentine’s brother Peter[9]
.1770 - several families get together and petition the government for land grants. Finally they are allowed a tract of land in Camden Valley, New York (near the border with Vermont).[10].
NOTE THE FROM THE LIMERICK GENEALOGY FILES. it shows who were the children of the John Teltor. That leaves many other Teters Georges Adams Pauls Johns many more not born from this direct John Jacob Detlor that came 1709 with several thousand families.
Therefore only one line of one John Teter Tetler is shown. We know there there was still many more between Dublin Kerry Limerick such as the other 2 George Teters in Limerick with Adams Jacobs .
TYTER name is very rare and usual to County Kerry. Some nice people on the Kerry rootsweb were kind enough to find out some information on the TYTER name for me. They told me that TYTER is a Palantine name found in Co. Kerry. The TYTER's were French Huguenots who came from the Palantine area of Germany. They left Palantine, Germany went to Holland, London and Ireland in search of religious freedom. Later on these families went to Canada. They made settlements in the Limerick City and Kerry areas. The TYTER's were orginally named DETLOR/TETTLER, but when they came to Ireland the name was changed to TYTER.

NOTE Benjamin Tedder does not show after this. He left a son there named George Teter.
John Tetlor, was a French Huguenot whos family fled France into Germany with other Teters where they lived in Nassau. He appeared in London 1663 then went to Ireland. He left many family especally men named George. These people were well integrated into Irish society by 1712. They lived between Dublin Kerry Limerick. Some of them adapted the spelling of Teytor Tyter Tytor. By 1709 a extened family John Jacob Detlor also french who lived and was born in Nassau arrived in Limerick with several thousand Germans with the assistance of Queen Ann, Many started out working on a Irish Lords plantation. Everntually they all became Methodists.
By 1729 1730 several ships had gone to SC from Ireland and English Ports. These brothers Samuel Jacob Benjamin William Joseph George or 1st cousins moved all around. Recorded as Tedder Teeter Teator Teeder Tettor Tettler Tutterow Tetor, appear to be from the Teytor Tyter Tetler group which all three still lived between Limerick and Kerry. by 1740 thier cousins began arriving in PA such as the Smeltzers others pure Irish like the Burks moving down to the Scotch Irish area of Augusta were another Colony of mainly people from Southern Ireland appeared on the Crab Creek Tract.. The George Teater of Crab Creek who was Natnaiel Gists Sgt in the Cherokee expedition shows to have lived with his father in law George Parris for a few years until 1763, then went to Georgia or NC. He was recorded in Georgia 1765. He then appeared same time Paul Smelter was dealing with Frederick Starns on the Crab Creek Tract.. The extended family all seemed to have Stationed in Rowan Co during the 1755 to 1761 Timeline. It appears Capt Daniel Teater Tettler went his way the sons of George Tedder went to Dobbs NC, Benjamin may have been in Georgia outback Indian trader out of site. William moved with the Jeter Clan all over between SC Georgia to Greensville VA. George Teater who married Sarah Pearis Parris daughter of George Parris and unknown Squaw appears more as the son of Samuel who disapeared as the Clerk of Edgcombe after 1753.. He appears to have left Rowan Co with hs in law Daniel Boone to Braddocks defeat and stayed on until he transfrered to Nataniel Gists Co. He moved from Crab Creek to Bakers Creek in which became Washington Co 1770. During that time he was the Sgt of William Edmiston In the Lord Dunmore war other miltary engagements. He left to Clarks Station 1779 KY where he was Shot by Indians. Recovered and had a cabin on the Dicks river with a William Gains 1784 , Then found with 4 negro slaves in madison 1787. Then joined by his family and other Tedders from NC like George Tedder SR of Dobbs NC. Had 3 wives Sarah Pearis Esther Griffith and 3rd Ester widow of Benjamin Totten Sr. Died 1815 Garrard KY. It seems more strong George Teater was born 1736 in Edgecombe or bladen area. 2nd possibilty was born in Ireland.. He was named by Gov David Campbell as being Scotch Irish and named in the History of Ft Wayne Indiana as Scotch Irish, Its more likly he was part French part Scotch but family was originated in Ireland which gave him the Irish Element,, This George Teater shows no records with any German Teters. There is not one document in the world that shows his name was ever John
