Are you still R1b1b2 ?.... our Irish-Palatinate Smeltzer / Smelzer line appears to be.We only have one completed Y-DNA test for that line so I can't be positive that it will carry across all of the sublines we are currently calling Irish - Palatinate Smeltzer. The interesting thing is that it does appear that our Irish-Palatinate line does have at least some ... some Y-DNA similarities to the line of Paulser Smelser on Crab Creek. They are NOT so close as to call them cousin lines but it is clear that some time in the distant past they did share a common grandfather if our understanding of how this all works genetically is correct. Our Paulser descendant works out on the genealogical calculator for MRCA with our Irish-Palatinate descendant to be a GD of 15 at 37 markers with a calculated TMRCA greater than 24 generations. The likelihood of them having a common ancestor within 24 generations is only .39% ... but they are both R1b1b2.
