SUDDEN DEATH.--Mrs. Cornelia Thaxton, the amiable consort of Dr. Joseph J. Thaxton, of Person county, ate a piece of water-melon on Friday last, and died of cramp-cholic in two hours afterward. Dr. T. was on a visit at Beaufort, at the time, and the only white adult on the premises to witness the melancholy death, was his aged mother. The feelings of the fond and devoted husband, on hearing the sad and heart-rending intelligence, can be better imagined than describe.--Mil. Chronicle.
