My great-great grandfather was John George Theiss. According to writings done by his son, John George Theiss was in Meigs County, Ohio around mid 1800's.Lubert Theiss another minister like John asked John to go to Zelienpole, PA and preach there. So, he did and that's where my great grandfather (also) John George Theiss was born.By what I figure, John George, Sr. went back to Meigs County and John George, Jr. went on to Danville (Vermillion County) Illinois where he took his soon to be bride to California where they married (Oakland, Alameda County, CA).
It is said that John George Theiss was an orphan. However, I'm trying to find if there's a connection between him and Lubert Theiss. It is said that they were only a few years apart and had the same number of children. It is also said that they were 2 of the largest Theiss Clans in the U.S.
I read in an earlier post of yours that you couldn't ascertain a connection between Lubert and your Theiss Family. Is John George Theiss part of your line?
I'm at a standstill with this family and am trying to locate any informnation that I can.
