I am looking for any information about William Thieme. He was born about 1850 in what was then Prussia and came to the United States 1881 or 1882 with his wife Elizabeth Kellogg (may have been Kellough) and son Oscar Oswald Thieme. He settled in Howell County, MO and in 1890 purchased land in Oregon County, MO. In about 1900 he moved to Greene County, MO, where his son stayed. William again moved on, to Oklahoma and died in Payne County, OK in 1928 or 1929. He was a rather mysterious character and married at least twice more after Elizabeth died about 1890.
There is a Thiemer family in Greene County, MO (Springfield) who own a funeral home. There is supposed to be some connection, but I don't have any information about it.
Incidentally, we pronounce it "teem-eh". William's son Oscar added an "r" to make it Thiemer.
