Ruth, Thanks so much for your kind reply to my Thomsen/Hansen posting.Like you I think that we may definately be on to something for you are the second person to inquire about a German connection.I do only know that Thomas was born in Denmark, I do not know the birth place of Anna Hansen.I do know though that when Thomas was refused official permission to emigrate to the U.S., the little family then asked for, and were granted permission to "visit" Germany.Once there they were quickly able to secure passage to the U.S.Thomas was in the Danish Cavalry reserves and that was the reason for him being refused permission to emigrate, apparently there was a war looming on the horizon.
I am ill now with a heart condition which unfortunately must get worse, (surgery) before it gets better so there will most likely be a gap in our communication soon, but please don't despair. I did want to answer your communication and let you know that I am VERY interested. This has been my personal "brick wall."I have considerable information on Thomas and Anna's lives in this country if you are interested which I will be happy to share with you in the future.Their lives really read like a made-for-t.v. movie or something, very interesting, but with much tragedy and pathos.
