I know that Dominique Thaumure de LaSource (meaning of the flowing spring, fountain) was among early settlers in Quebec and later Villa Marie (Montreal). He was born in Saintes, france (San.) in 1663, the son of Dominique De LaSource and Marquerite Bouder of St. Sever, Diocese of Sainte, France. The title De LaSource was dropped in the early 19th century, at about the time the surname Thaumure was changes to Thomure."Dominique De LaSource was a practicing physician in Montreal and a pioneeer of great reputation. In August 1689, he married Jeanne Prudhomme (1667-1752)in Montreal. His son (Jean Baptiste) born in Montreal in 1696 came to Kaskaskia before 1700.I am having trouble finding the rest of the family tree.My aunt Linda gave me a copy once and it became lost.I am now trying to trace forward from Jean Baptiste.I know my great-great grandfather was Louis Thomure and his wife was Sarah Vansickle.
