Hi Cynthia, I found this on another researchers home page and decided to let you see it and see if this is something that has any merit? I guess a lot of people have just copied from an unresearched source huh?Thought it ws ineresting in that there is some children listed for Thomas and Alice Lane.I have also heard that Sir Ralph Land didn't have any children?? I sure will wait for the red light.I do not want to proceed any further with info that I have no documentation for.
Thomas Thornborough, son of Nicholas and Janet, came to Virginia (from England?) in 1616. In 1625, he married Alice Lane, daughter of Sir Ralph Lane, first govenor of Virginia. In 1644, Thomas moved to Maryland where he owned 2000 acres. In 1649 he was a member of the Maryland Assembly. By 1653, he had returned to Elizabeth City County (Virginia?), where he became a member of the House of Burgesses. In 1661, he took up 700 acres in Norlumber County Virginia. Thomas and Alice had five children, one of whom was Roland Thornborough who married Anne ?. Roland and Anne had six children. Their daughter Anne Thronborough married James Wells. Their daughter, whose name I don't know married a man with the last name of Holmes. Their child William Holmes came from Maryland to Virginia and he and his wife (name unknown) were the parents of Susanna Holmes.
Susanna Holmes married Thomas (or Jacob) Estep (or Esteb). They lived in North Carolina, where they owned a tract of land, in the 1700's. Their first child was their daughter Honor Estep (or Esteb), born 1759. Honor married Owen Seaney Jr. (or Seany).
