Thomas Thornton of Duplin County North Carolina moved from Virginia. One of his son's names was Harod Thornton.Harod was in the Revoluntionary War in North Carolina.
Here is a letter I wrote to Marcine Lohman about the Thornton family:
Hello Marcine,
My name is Dwight Thornton.Your Aunt Alma Wiles is my second cousin.I strongly believe that Thomas Thornton of Duplin County, North Carolina is the son of John Thornton mentioned in Lancastor County Will book 13 page 198.He was the son of Thomas Thornton. Will dated 9 October 1737.Division of the estate is dated 9 October 1741.Will book 13 page 286.
I do not have a copy of this will, but Louis Reno lived in the same county as Thomas's son who was named Thomas as well.Thomas moved to from Lancastor County to Prince William County. In the book by Kathleen Branson, she has the Reno family history.Auburn J. Thornton's wife was of the Reno family-line.I have unable to get this will, maybe you could help me.I've noticed that you've done a lot of research and would be very grateful if you could help me with this.
Basically what I'm saying is that the family-line can be traced back farther.I'm not sure if you were aware of this or not, but if not... I hope this helps. What's needed now is the 1737 will for documentation.
Sincerely,
Dwight E. Thornton
