Saw your Peter Thorp query some time ago, but haven't had time to reply.I searched especially John, Peter's brother, to eliminate him from my search for my John Thorp who was lived in the same area in NJ. It was interesting that you located the Peter Thorp Bible and that it listed their parents.I have a lot of information and it did list John as the father but they weren't sure about his mother.Someone finally did think it was Margaret and later added the surname Frazier. In all the correspondence, they indicated that Peter was born in Bottle Hill, now Madison, but they indicated that John was born in Somerset County. A Mrs. John Q. Holmes of Michigan hired a C. Robert Brown, Genealogist to research Peter Thorp. He did a very thorough search for the Thorps. Then later Mrs. Holmes and Mrs. E.E. Thorpe corresponded and those letters are also in The Rutger's Library.I have copies. My time is still limited for a while but will eventually have time to get back to genealogy. We corresponded before. Emily D.
