I don't have any information as yet, but wanted to post my interest in this couple, who were my GGGGGG grandparents.
What I do know of this family is:
Ralph was curate at Maghull from 1729-1743. He married Elizabeth and they had children John, Betty & Jane. Elizabeth died in 1740 & was buried in the chancel
Ralph married Mary Webster on 9th July 1741 & they had children Anne & Ralph
From 1744-1746 Mary and her children, plus (separately in records) the three children from the first marriage were subject to various county court hearings regarding them being removed for poor relief.
In 1744 Mary & her children were given a removal order from Maghull to Farrington (where there are earlier records of Ralph Sherdleys from the 1500s)
in 1744/5 Mary and her children and also Elizabeth's children are given removal orders from Maghull to North Meols (AKA Southport)
In 1745 there's an adjournment of removal from Maghull to North Meols for Elizabeth's children
In 1746 Mary and her children, plus Elizabeth's children are given an adjournment of appeal on a removal order from North Meols to Maghull
Clearly the powers that be were struggling with the issue of which parish was responsible for the upkeep of Ralph's family. Jane (AKA Jennet) Sherdley, Ralph's youngest child by his first marriage, married Robert Marshall in North Meols parish in 1766. They had 6 children (4 survived) and lived at Blowick in North Meols for a while. They briefly moved to Liverpool, as Jane was again subject to a removal order in 1780 from Liverpool to North Meols. They then settled in Birkdale where the rest of Robert's family lived.
I can find no record at North Meols as yet for any of the other Sherdleys.
