William J. Ticen was born in New Jersey in 1772. He and his wife, Hanna, moved to Green Co., Ohio in 1825. They had five children: Pearson, Rachel, Hanna, Richard, and Evan. Marriage licenses are recorded for Hanna, Rachel and Richard at the Xenia, Ohio county seat. William lived in the Bellbrook community where he was a teamster and farmer. He died at the age of eighty, and is buried in the Bellbrook Pioneer Cem. in Bellbrook, Ohio. Rachel married John Huntsman, and Hanna married Robert Lawrence. Richard Ticen served for the Union army in the Civil War. He married Ada Hosier. Evan served with the Union army also. He was wounded, and died in an army hospital in Nashville, TN.in 1862.
