Debbie, I found the info I mentioned in my last message to you. This was sent to me several years ago. I am not sure what book it came from. It is pretty long but I will try to send all the important info. Ticer is spelled Tysor in the article but names and locations are the same so mayble it will be useful to you. "The Tysor family of Chatham County, NC is descendents from Lewis Tysor, one of three brothers that came from France with the Marquis de Lafayette to fight in the American Revolution. The brothers were Lewis, Charles, and Thomas. Their father, a native of portugal, had gone to France to fight in a war and while there married. The military record of Lewis Tysor is from N.C. (enlistment-Halifax County) Other two brothers reported as Having settled on either Hogg Island or Knotts Island, Virginia.Lewis is said to have gone to Chathan Co. to receive land for his military service. Other report states Lewis was born in Chatham Co. and the father had come from Portugal. Chatham Co. Records-Shows Lewis bought land in Chatham co. in 1792. No othermention of Charles Tysor has been found in that name, But it is considered likely that Augustine Tysor found in Chatham county records as the husband of Lucy Dowdy & heir of Thomas Dowdy may well have been he, perhaps his name was Charles Augustine Tysor. Records show they left N.C. and moved to Hamiltom County. Ohio.Lewis Tysor had a son named Jordan Tysor. Jordan married Lucy Ann Poe.
