I too am looking for a branch of Tierney's. My gg-grandmother was Bridgett Tierney. I do have a copy of Bridgett's death certificate. The names of John and Margaret Tierney are on Bridgett's death certificate as her parents both who were born in Ireland as Bridgett was. I was given copies of two petitions from a John Tierney his intentions of becoming a Citizen of U.S. (Deleware Co. and Lancaster Co. Pennsylvania.)I do not think that this could be Bridgett's father because it has his birth as Jan 1, 1821. Could this be her brother and who was her sister that she went to live with in Kentucky. Here's the info that I have.
Bridgett Tierney Jordan Connors b. Mar 11, 1830 ? (1837) in Ireland d. Dec 6, 1915 in Ellis Co., Ennis, TX (at her sons house James Connors buried at St. Martin's Cemetery, Cole Co., Elston, Mo.)

6. Thomas Conners b. 1872? in IL
7. John C. Conners b. 1875? in IL
I do have a copy of Bridgett's & Mary's death certificates and copies of Mary's marriage license and marriage bond.It has been told to me that Bridgett's first husband disappeared after going to town. She then went to Kentucky to be with her sister. She has her next four children in KY.Notice that two boys were born around 1862 and 1866.Notice the years between were Civil War years. Therefore James Conners was probably a soldier in that conflict. Last two children were born in IL.They lived in Elston, MO after 1875 and that's where I think that my g-grandmother Johanna met and married my g-grandfather Phillip.Mary Marie O'Connor Crutcher, my grandmother and Johanna and Phillip's daughter, was born in Jefferson City, MO which is in Cole Co., MO. The men of these families worked for Railroads and that's why I think they found their way into TX late 1890's and 1900's.Johanna and Phillip are found in the 1900 Census in Bowie Co., Texarkana, TX.
Maybe we have a connection.Do you see any info the same as yours.
