Hi :) I thought I had a red hot one till I realized it was my dad that posted that and he probably never got your message because he typed his email address wrong: its btierney49 and the domain is right. So let's see if we have a match.
I am putting his research online and was following up on some loose ends, this being one of them.
His grandfather James (Turney/Tarney/Tierney) married Catherine Robertson in 1859 or 60. He had a son named Matthew who stayed in Ayr (my father's father).
Another son, James, also stayed in Ayr and married Catherine Miller.
One daughter, Grace Tierney, emigrated and was last known of in Brooks Alberta.
Andrew Tierney emigrated with two brothers and is believed to have settled in Orange NJ. We do not know the names of the brothers. One of Andrew's sons is believed to be in California.
John and Bernard both emigrated then returned to Scotland. Bernard committed suicide in 1937, He was married to Margaret Blair, whose mother lived in Canada.
Robert, the youngest son, was a road repairman for the city of Ayr and died in the 60's.
Helen (Nellie) married someone named Conor and moved to Glenburn near Prestwick. My dad says she had at least two sons, Pat and Dan, who were coal miners and raced greyhounds. There was one named Black Cat that used to get loose and steal kids' ice cream cones.
Mary became Mary Murphy and also lived in Glenburn.
Margaret stayed single and died in 1963.
Catherine (Kate) became McAloney and had a daughter named Kathleen.
Chrissie was a WREN and never married. She died around 1997.
I hope, if we don't match, that this info at least helps someone.
