Do you know if Peter immigrated to America with children?Could he have been married before Catherine? The states you mentioned correlate with the states that my gggrandmother Bridget was associated with, except Maryland. It may be that I just do not know about the Maryland connection. We have always suppected that he came into Baltimore port.Could he have had cild / children who came to America with him?
Bridget was married to a Jordan and a child Mary Jordan was said to have been born in VA (W VA now).Husband seems to disappear and she is said to have gone to KY to be with a sister. She remarries and has 4 children (Johanna, Michael P(eter maybe), Patrick, James Conners) in the 1860s there in KY after her marriage to James Conners. They move on to IN and have another son Thomas. Then on to IL and have their last son John Charles Conners.
That makes a total of 7 children. But I believe that I have found her in the 1900 Cole County, MO Census listed as a widow with John Charles.(the Census enumerator spells their name Coners)
In that Census it asks how many children (answer 11), how many still living (answer 4).We know as of that Census she had 6 children accounted for with Thomas unknown whereabouts. She never heard from her son Thomas and no one has been able to find him.He left home early because of some differences.I have found a death of a Thomas Conners 17 years old in MO that could be him and that's why he was not ever found. Her son James Jr hiredsomeone to search for Thomas hoping that Bridget would get to find out about her lost child.Nothing turned up.
This same Census lists her immigration as 1841 her being in the states 59 years. The dates are not very legible on the internet and I plan on going to library and look at page myself to see if it does say 1841.
I do have some info that states Bridget's father may have the name Peter, even though on her death cert it says John.
I would be very interested in your Peter.Do you know when he married Catherine?Maybe their children were Bridget's half-siblings.
