Hi Cathi!
I am gradually putting pieces together, and I now think your Tighes and mine are part of the same family.
We start with Terence, born about 1820 in Sligo, married to Ann McDonald.
Offspring - only two or three identified as yet. They are:
Thomas (abt 1847-1926), went to Australia (my line).
Terence, born about 1845, who married Rose Coen in Sligo in 1859
Francis?
and others unknown
Of these, at least two of their offspring, Margaret and Nora, daughters of Terence and Rose, went to Glasgow, Scotland. Prior to her marriage, Nora went to relatives in Cincinatti at the age of 14, and returned to Scotland around 1895 (I think).
This may be pure coincidence, but the sponsors at the baptism of one of Nora's children were Francis Higgins and Elizabeth Garrity. Both Nora and Margaret married Callaghan brothers.
I don't have a feel for the possible dates of the family you mention, so if you can give me a rough indication, I can start seeing how your Patrick and Mary Doyle might fit in. Do you have any idea when you great grandmother Catherine was born? I'm wondering if Patrick was another son of Terence and Ann.
Let me know what you think. I'm pretty sure that the family Gerald Tighe mentioned is tied in too, but he seems to be off the air. Have a look at my recent reply to him, and catch the referece back to another followup I recently did, which has info about Nora in the US, and in particular Mother's Day.
Cheers,
Alwynne
